BACOLOD CITY — The local police in this city will remain on full alert for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Friday and Saturday, Nov 1. and 2.

Colonel Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, said on Tuesday, Oct. 29, that the Bacolod police had been on full alert since the start of the MassKara Festival on Oct. 11 and would remain under such status until Nov. 2.

“Full alert means all police personnel cannot go on leave,” he said.

Guns and other deadly weapons, alcoholic drinks, karaoke, loud music, concerts, and gambling would not be allowed at the cemeteries, said Coronica in a press conference with Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, at the mayor’s office.

Coronica said meetings had been held with security stakeholders and owners of private cemeteries.

He said Bacolod security forces would be deployed at the city’s 14 cemeteries starting Thursday, Oct. 31.
