MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and rains will prevail in parts of Luzon and Visayas on Sunday due to three weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

“The shear line, or the convergence of warm and cold air, continues to persist over the eastern part of Southern Luzon. Today, it will still bring a high likelihood of rain, thunderstorms, and lightning over the Bicol Region as well as parts of Eastern Visayas,” Castañeda explained in Filipino in a morning weathercast.
She also warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon, according to Castañeda.
Article continues after this advertisement“In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, the skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy. The weather will be cool or slightly chilly, especially during the early morning. There is also a possibility of light rain or drizzle caused by the amihan,” she added.

A gale warning was hoisted by Pagasa over the northern, eastern, and western seaboards of Northern Luzon due to the effects of the northeast monsoon.
